Maya Sigel is a Production Designer with over seventeen years of experience in film, television and commercials. She is a graduate of the American Film Institute MFA program in Production Design and has taught and mentored at AFI in the years since.

Of her sixteen feature film credits, many have premiered at Sundance, Tribeca, Toronto, and SXSW to critical acclaim. Maya has designed character worlds for Netflix, Apple TV+, Starz, TNT, and FX shows.

While an undergraduate in Comparative Literature and Film Studies at Brandeis University, Maya interned on the first year of Richard Linklater's BOYHOOD in her hometown of Austin, Texas. During this production, she had her "aha moment" that a career in art direction would be a natural fit for her interests and strengths.

Over the years, she has been based in New York and Los Angeles, and has designed in many other cities. Her latest project, the new KARATE KID LEGENDS movie for Sony Pictures will open in theaters May 30, 2025.
